Worked in A gang taking care of the AC and Refrigeration. Also Ships Career counselor. Pike Street was our place to be after work hours. Loved my time on the BYRD. Wish we could go back!

My sidekick John Paul Schosser, postal clerk and I enjoyed hitting the beach. Left for the Boston thinking it would go to North Atlantic. Ended up back in the Med. Shipped over for B school. Made YN2 sent to Ras Taunura Saudi Arabia. Returned to NORVA to SACLANT. Left Navy as YN1 to go to BU. Became a journalist and retired as a JOC.

Transited West Coast, great time in Acapulco, Panama Canal to homeport in Norfolk. First Med Cruise was outstanding. Transferred USS Boston hoping for North Atlantic cruise went back to the Med.

The people were great, the travel was good and there was usually something interesting going on. Even the food was OK. Only the chickensh-t was a little annoying. Altogether It was great.
