General Dynamics NASSCO Launches the USNS Richard E. Byrd (T-AKE-4) |

May 16, 2007 - SAN DIEGO – General Dynamics NASSCO, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), today launched the U.S. Navy’s newest resupply ship, USNS Richard E. Byrd (T-AKE 4). The ship is named in honor of the Navy Rear Admiral and Medal of Honor recipient who explored the North and South Poles by air.
