The 5th reunion for the USS Richard E. Byrd DDG-23 will be held October 1st-5th, 2009 in Washington, DC.

We will be meeting for hospitality, tours, dining and friendship at the Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Dulles Airport. The hotel is located in Herdon, VA , next to the Dulles Airport, and 40 minutes from the nations Capital.

On May 14, 2007, USNS RICHARD E. BYRD, a dry cargo/ammunition ship, was delivered to the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command. The ship is the fourth in a new class of combat logistics force ships and is able to deliver ammunition, provisions, stores, spare parts, potable water and petroleum products to the Navy's carrier strike groups and other naval forces worldwide.
